Ahoy there!
Thanks for stopping by Paddle Pursuits. If you spend a lot of time sitting or standing on small boats – sometimes soaked to the bone, but loving every minute of it – then you’ll feel at home here.
Our goal is to provide knowledge, training, and entertainment on all things paddling, with a focus on getting newbies out on the water.
You’ll find lots of helpful resources on
- Paddling techniques
- Trip planning
- Equipment selection
- Safety and survival skills
- And adventure traveling
So, whether you’re kayak crazy, SUP silly, or just daft for outdoor adventures, you’re sure to be entertained by our blog.
We’re always open to new friendships and talking to fellow paddlers. If you share a similar love of paddle sports, have suggestions to make the site better, or you just want to say “hi”, feel free to contact us through the website or reach out on Facebook.
Meet Our Team
Jamie Stewart
Jamie is a kayaking and paddle sports nut. Regretfully, he didn’t explore any of Bonnie Scotland’s waterways, and it was not until shortly after moving to New Zealand in 2011, that he discovered kayaking. Most weekends, you’ll now find him exploring the South Island’s rivers and lakes with a paddle in one hand and a fishing rod in the other.
Casey Fiedler
Casey is an outdoor educator, adventure education administrator, writer, and ski instructor. He likes to listen to punk rock and sometimes start businesses. When he goes into the backcountry, he usually carries less than 10 pounds of gear. When not writing about kayaking and canoeing, he also likes to write about and teach guiding in the backcountry.
